Lucy moved to Alger Heights in 2023. She’s seen first-hand the power that local politics can have on community health. Professionally, she’s been involved in local and federal politics, non-profit work, and tech consulting; she currently works at Hope College in Holland as a project manager and executive assistant for the admissions and financial aid office. Connecting personally with people to find solutions that work for the greater community is the biggest drive for Lucy’s involvement with AHNA. Lucy can often be found at varsity basketball games to support the school her husband teaches and coaches at.

Andrew has lived in Alger Heights for seven years. You may know him from another neighborhood group that he co-founded: Good Neighbors of Alger Heights + Garfield Park. Andrew’s professional experience working with a global design team has honed his ability to create and lead impactful changes for any organization. He joined the AHNA crew to help connect neighbors with fellow Alger Heights residents and the neighborhood itself. When Andrew isn’t organizing for his local communities, he’s binging Oscar-nominated films, racing with his sailing crew, or cheering on the soccer team Manchester City.

Ben has been a resident of Alger Heights for the past six years and is passionate about creating community programming and connections within the neighborhood. His professional experience as an IT leader has taught him how to not only create new programs, but make sure they thrive, and that’s exactly what he’s looking to do with the Alger Heights Neighborhood Association (AHNA). His primary focus these past several years has been rebuilding AHNA to be an association where neighbors with different perspectives can come together to build a stronger community. You can often catch Ben around the neighborhood pushing a stroller alongside his wife, walking Hunter, possibly the loudest husky in Alger Heights, or learning more about the lore of his house.
